| The following is the transcript of an on-line interview conducted between myself (Christina Norton) and Jeanette Blalock, on November 9, 2008. I utilized quotes from this interview in a project for my WMST 2010 class. It is uploaded here for anyone who wishes to read it in its entirety. In the transcript, 'battyburrito' is the handle of myself, and 'zombieaynrand' is the handle of the interviewee.

| CHRISTY'S TOP FIVE DEAD GUY CRUSHES
Sometimes my Unrequited Love Beam shines into the grave! Oooo-ooooo-oooh! DISCLAIMER: I am not a graverobber and/or corpsefucker. Rest assured.
 5. Toshiro Mifune Best known for working with Akira Kurosawa on about a bazillion [16] films. I've only seen about 5 of them, and in most of those he plays the scruffiest, roughest, most righteous characters I know of. I've never seen him play a villain, though I'm sure he has; I don't know how I would feel about him then. When his character in Seven Samurai died, I was heartbroken.
 4. Parmigianino Mannerist painter from Parma, Italy. I found him when I was younger in my mother's 'History of Art' book. I loved his paintings and developed a crush on him based on this self-portrait. I was sad to learn that later in his life he went bat-shit insane, but he was buried naked with a wooden cross on his chest. Awesome!
 3. Oscar wilde Do I really have to talk about Oscar Wilde? Go read his books already. Maybe not the most physically attractive person, but quite utterly charming. When I found out he was gay I was depressed, but cheered myself up with the thought that he might have been bisexual. The fact that he was long dead did not upset me too much, somehow. Maybe I was very optimistic about time machines back then.
 2. Glenn Quinn This guy played Doyle on the Angel television series. When Doyle died, Quinn left the cast. I was distraught that he was gone, but Drew reassured me that it was merely the character that was dead, not the man. Unfortunately, he was wrong, and we found out that Glenn Quinn died of a heroin overdose shortly after leaving the show. Oops. Drugs are bad, kids.
 1. Gregory Peck When I saw Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, I thought, "I want him to be the father of my children!" I don't think Gregory would have had time for it, since he had about 8 children with other women, but it's nice to think about. He was apparently a very good parent. Wikipedia told me so! Wikipedia also told me that his first name was Eldred, his mother's nickname was Bunny, and his father's middle name was Pearl. Super great family, guys! | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |

| It's Christmaaaas, it's Christmaaaaas. Well, it's Christmas Eve, but in my family we do a gift-exchange on the Eve as well as the Day so I've already got loot. I will list it here for the purpose of delight in my materialism:
one $25 Barnes and Noble gift card, already spent on their website
One Goody's gift card for $35
One It's Fashion! gift card for $25
One ridiculously beautiful and comfy blue sweater that I am wearing right now
An adorable group photo of my aunt, uncle, and two young cousins
And more to come, as my family from across the nation put things in the mail or pile into their cars.
I'm not all that bad, you know. I like giving gifts just as much as receiving them. I finished up a painting for Mum today, after two false starts. It's very nice, red berries on a green backgroud. I think it will go well with her redecorating in the living room. I got a Heinlein book for Drew, too, I'm going to give it to him as soon as it is midnight! I hope Sydney likes her sock-creature that I made for her, rather than being scared of it. It looks kind of strange.
I've felt very creative lately, I think that making gifts has gotten me into the mood to make things. I don't know where to start, though.
Happy Christmas and every other holiday you may celebrate, my dears. Take care and have fun. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |

| HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY ROBERTS! I know you don't read my journal and maybe you've even forgotten it exists, but I LOVE YOU A LOT! and I hope you have a wonderful day, and a wonderful life, and in the future when you have dissappeared completely from my life, I might remember you on your birthday and still love everything I knew about you in high school.
I love lots of people, most days. They don't know. I guess I'm creepy. | comments: Leave a comment |
